Keys without your address on them
A keyring printed with your street and entrance tells someone where to walk in. The code can reach you and leave the address off the tag.
A private page
The finder sees the form, not your home. They write, and you choose where to meet. A public place, in daylight, is enough. Leave off the entrance, the floor, the building name, and any description of the door.

What never goes on the keyring
No address, no entrance, no tag that says “home” or “office”, and no engraved phone you cannot change. Marked keys say which door they open and where it is.
QR or NFC with private mode
On a small keyring a QR code sometimes cannot be large enough to scan. The same link can be written to an NFC tag: a phone opens it on contact. If you use a QR, keep it large and flat. With a private page there are no visible details: only the notice and the form.
A protocol to get them back without exposure
- The finder writes from the page, without seeing your email or your home.
- You read it in your account and you name a public place, in daylight.
- If you change the lock or retire the keyring, pause the page.

Ask them to write, to say where the keys are, and not to try them in a door.
Put the code on the keyring
A large, flat QR, or the same link on NFC if the tag is small.
You choose the meeting place
When the message arrives, name a public place. The address never had to travel on the keys.

- What if the finder does not want to return them?
- The code does not prevent that. It works when someone is willing to get in touch.
- What is the password for?
- If only someone in your household should read the text, a password page hides it. A stranger can still write to you.
- Can I pause the page?
- Yes. If you stop using that keyring, pause the page and the code stops opening it.
